Pruning of Community
Rose Gardens

The FVRS has maintained and cared for the Esther Short Park and Covington House rose gardens for many years.  This work helps us to meet part of our mission by educating the public about roses and also by sharing our love of roses with the community.  In the summer months the work includes deadheading, weeding and a spraying program.
The FVRS has accomplished this in many ways--members have signed up to keep the gardens for a two-week period, volunteers were asked to watch the garden (and we hope it gets done!), or one or two members just make it happen.
FVRS will spring prune and "open up" both the Esther Short Park and the Covington House rose gardens in April.  Arrive with pruners, rakes, wheelbarrow, etc., and learn how to get your rose garden ready for winter!

              Spring pruning dates TBA
